SWE.Job
Background & Purpose

Our vision.

The software engineering job market is noisy. Generalist platforms like Indeed and Naukri.com aggregate millions of listings, but they lack the specificity required by developers. Searching for a “Software Engineer” role returns irrelevant non-technical jobs, or matches that don't fit a candidate's concrete technical stack. Furthermore, these platforms suffer from a lack of transparent compensation details and spammy redirect chains.

Other modern curation channels, such as Sig Jobs, have shown that developers value curated listings with transparent pay. However, there is still a massive gap for a platform that indexes developer-specific dimensions—categorizing roles by concrete engineering sub-domains (e.g. AI / Gen AI, DevOps, Backend systems) and experience levels—while maintaining a highly readable and clean, clutter-free user interface.

The Developer-First Manifesto

SWE Job was built with one goal in mind: to create the most efficient job board for developers. We do this by focusing on three main principles:

  • Vetted Listings: Opportunities are curated to ensure they are active, authentic, and represent high-quality engineering roles.
  • Engineering Domains: We index roles by technical focus, not just job title. If you write Go and manage Kubernetes, you can filter by Backend and DevOps to find roles that match your exact stack.
  • Direct Routes: We link directly to the corporate application forms or official hiring mailboxes, keeping redirect chains and recruiters' platforms out of your way.

We believe that finding your next role shouldn't be a chore of dodging advertisements, sorting through agency spam, or submitting details to five different tracking platforms. By maintaining an elegant design inspired by the clean, stark aesthetics of Vercel, we hope to respect your time and display details in a form that is readable and technical.
