Engineering Manager, Structural Design (R4825)
About the role
The role involves experience in aircraft structural design or closely related aerospace structures, team leadership as a project or IPT style team lead, designing and releasing structural components in development or production environments. It also requires working knowledge of composite and metallic structures, including fasteners, bonded joints, and load paths. Proficiency in CAD tools (NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar) is required along with an understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and DFMA principles. Strong written and verbal technical communication skills are necessary, as well as the ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-ownership engineering environment. An MS degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering is desirable, experience supporting UAV, DoD, or full aerospace vehicle programs, familiarity with aerospace standards (MIL-STD, ASME Y14.5, FAA), and experience fabricating and testing large scale aerospace structures such as wings, fuselages or similar are also required. Demonstrated understanding of composite manufacturing methods and using FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN, or similar) for linear structural analysis is needed. A S/SAR level security clearance is desired.
Candidates will join an innovative team pushing engineering boundaries. Depending on the domains associated with this job, you will be expected to design clean APIs, write automated test cases, and participate in peer code reviews. We value developers who focus on performance optimization, fast load times, and simple, maintainable architectures.
